Mayo County Council draw for free flights to Ireland with rental car included – fly from anywhere in the world !

Mayo County Council are delighted to announce a brand-new partnership with car rental company My Irish Cousin for their Home to Mayo competition to mark ten years of Mayo Day in 2024.

The winner of the Home to Mayo Competition will courtesy of My Irish Cousin receive free car hire for two weeks (Terms and Conditions apply), along with the amazing prize of two return flights to Mayo from anywhere in the world!

The Home to Mayo Competition which was launched at the Milwaukee Irish Fest in August has seen phenomenal interest from right across the globe already with entries coming from as far-flung places as Vietnam, South Africa, and Brazil, along with Irish emigrant hot spots like the USA and Australia.

It was at the Milwaukee Irish Fest, which is the largest Irish festival in the world that Mayo County Council and Malachy Quinn from My Irish Cousin first linked up after Malachy was taken with the Home to Mayo Competition.

Speaking about coming on board with the competition Quinn said: “My Irish Cousin is thrilled to contribute a car rental to this wonderful competition.

“Car rental is without a doubt the best way to get out and explore the hidden gems of beautiful Ireland.“

“Mayo is one of my favourite parts of the country with lots to see and do and we are delighted to be working with Mayo County Council on this Innovative promotion of the county and all it has to offer“

Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, Cllr Michael Loftus who launched the competition in Milwaukee said: “I’m delighted that My Irish Cousin have decided to support the Home to Mayo competition.

“The competition has been a great success so far with entries from all over the world and the addition of free car hire for the winner is an added bonus for the winner and will enable them to explore every corner of Mayo and all it has to offer during their stay.”

Mayo Day is the annual celebration of all things Mayo and Mayo County Council are thrilled to announce its milestone tenth-anniversary celebration will be taking place in May 2024.

To mark this historic occasion, Mayo County Council are proud to present a fantastic Home to Mayo competition, offering participants the chance to win a pair of flights Home to Mayo during the month of May next year from anywhere in the world.

Since its inception, Mayo Day has become a celebrated occasion, embodying the essence of Mayo’s rich heritage, vibrant culture, and strong community spirit.

Mayo County Council Flight Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. These terms and conditions apply to a competition run by Mayo County Council to win a free return flight from anywhere in the world to Ireland West Airport Knock, County Mayo, Ireland for one winner and a guest of their choice.

  2. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older at time of entry to competition.

  3. In order to enter this competition, entrants must complete the online form on www.mayoday.ie. This competition is not open to Mayo County Council employees, agents, contractors or sub-contractors – or their families.

  4. Entrants entering this competition will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

  5. Entries must be strictly in accordance with these terms and conditions and any other conditions in the messaging or promotions around such competition or they will be invalid. One entry is permitted per person. Entries from agents/third parties are invalid.

  6. Mayo County Council accepts no responsibility or liability for entries or information relating to entries that are lost.

  7. The winning entry will be picked at random from valid entries received via a random number generator. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  8. Any prize is as stated in any messaging or promotions advertising such competition. No cash or other alternative will be offered and prizes are non-transferable. Prize relates to flights only.

  9. In the event that the winner declines the prize awarded to him/her or Mayo County Council is unable to contact the winner after reasonable efforts have been made, Mayo County Council may award the prize to another entrant, selected at random.

  10. By accepting the prize, the winner grants Mayo County Council the right to use and publish his/her name and picture in such media as Mayo County Council may choose (including but not limited to the internet) for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration.

  11. Mayo County Council is excluded from liability for any loss, damage or injury which might occur to the winner or any other person with whom the winner shares the prize.

  12. As part of the prize, the winner must participate in a photo shoot for media purposes.

  13. By accepting the prize the winner is committing to using the prize to fly to Ireland West Airport Knock Ireland any time between May 1 and the 31 May 2024.

  14. Mayo County Council has placed a maximum monetary value of €4,000 on the prize. This maximum value applies to the cost of a standard economy return flights to Ireland West Airport Knock Ireland and can be used for no other purpose.

  15. Flights to be confirmed and booked no later than January 31 2024.

  16. The closing date for entry to the competition is 23:59 (GMT) on Friday November 10 2023. Mayo County Council reserves the right to suspend or terminate the competition or amend these terms and conditions at any time for any valid technical or commercial reason.

  17. The terms and conditions for the winner in relation to car rental are: (1) Compact Automatic Car for two weeks, (2) Fully inclusive insurance cover with zero excess, zero deductible, (3) No hold or deposit on credit card, (4) Additional driver included, (5) No additional fees or charges, (6) Prize to the value of €1500, (7) No exchange for cash, (8) non-transferable and (9) Changes to car size or rental period can be arranged at current rates at time of booking.
